Goodreads Monday

Goodreads Monday is a weekly meme hosted by @Lauren's page turner's. To participate, choose a random book from your TBR and show it off.

This week I would like to spotlight Dibs by Allison Martine. I was approached by the author and offered a chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review. I haven’t had a chance to finish it yet although I have made a start and have already chuckled aloud a few times in the first few chapters, always a good sign!

I thought I would share it as a ‘must be read’ to keep it present in my mind. I would ideally like to read it in February. Once I have got through a few deadline books this is next on my list to finish.

Dibs is the first in the Bourbon books series, a romace book, and now a 2020 Kindle book awards finalist! It was also named Readers Choice: Category Leader for Romance.

Synopsis

Not tonight, Olivia

Olivia’s ex-husband shut her down so many times before the cheating bastard left her that Olivia lost count. She didn’t realize she’d also lost the ability to banter, interpret body language, or accept that a man could find her desirable. None of that should matter when she leaves for a two-week training for her new job with the Ranchers, an outdoorsy nonprofit, but when her co-worker adds ‘halter top’ and ‘bikini’ to the official pack list, she has no idea what to expect on this trip.

It certainly wasn’t a perky blonde roommate who thinks their training is like spring break, but with a paycheck. It wasn’t the after-hours hot tub. It absolutely wasn’t the man with a rumble for a laugh who shows up on her flight and introduces himself as the colleague she didn’t know would be her companion for the next two weeks.

When blondie calls dibs on that same colleague, Olivia just wants to stay out of her way, but her colleague has ideas of his own. Ideas which involve Olivia, the hot tub, and shared sips of bourbon.

The book promises to be quirky, funny, romantic, and character driven with some cheeky sass thrown in. I am looking forward to getting snuggled under a blanket with a cuppa and this book, then I shall be looking for the rest of the books in the series!

Does this book sound like something you would like to add to your TBR? Have you read it already?

I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
