Hello and welcome to my second review of the day, another book tour for the lovely Rachels Random Resources. Jessica Redland is one of my go to authors, I have read so many of her books now. After reading Fizz's story in 'Christmas Miracles at Hedgehog Hollow' (which was the final instalment of the Hedgehog hollow series much to my distress!) I couldn't not read the story of her brother Barney the farmer in this story 'Healing hearts at Bumblebee barn.

Welcome to Bumblebee Barn, home to wonderful animals, stunning views and spectacular sunsets - and resident young farmer, Barney.
While Barney loves his life at Bumblebee Barn - a farm that has been in his family for generations - he's struggling to find someone to share it with. The early mornings quad biking through muddy fields and the long hours looking after the crops and animals are proving to be a deterrent to finding love.
So when his sister, Fizz - desperate for Barney to find his soulmate - sees an advert for Love on a Farm, a new reality TV show to help farmers find love, he has nothing to lose by applying. Afterall, he isn't meeting anyone suitable down the traditional route and surely he won't be picked anyway...?
Thrown into the chaos of reality TV, Barney could never have expected that his whole life would be turned upside down, with buried secrets to be uncovered and his heart on the line. With his family and friends rooting for him, could the magic of Bumblebee Barn heal his broken heart and help him find love on the farm?

As per usual Jessica Redland has knocked this one out of the park. I loved every bit of it. I always have a soft spot for Jessica's characters, they become my friends by the end of the books, and the fact that they pop up often in other books means they are never forgotten! Although the Hedgehog hollow series has completed and Samanthas journey has come to a satisfying end, I am happy to see that she had a little cameo in this book. I would hate to think that we never got to see what happened at the Hedgehog rescue centre after that last book!
This time to book centres around Barney, Fizz's brother who is a farmer. He took over his farm from his grandad when he retired and although loving his job, has come to the realisation that it is a lonely position to be in and he has not had much luck finding love. Many girls have found the life to be very unsuitable! So he decides to take a chance on love and sign up for a TV reality show with a difference, one that is less seedy and made for shock value than the normal types. One that genuinely wants to find love and highlight these farmers in the best light. Or so it was to begin with.....
Amber our producer is such a strong character from the beginning, she seems to have it all figured out and loves her career. She signs up to the show under duress for other personal reasons and in many ways comes to regret her decision. Her job doesn't turn out as she imagined and there are twists and turns, with the odd firework thrown in for good measure! However the one positive of the show is meeting Barney. They form a valuable friendship throughout, but could it lead to more? Not if she wants to keep herself professional!
The one thing that Jessica does exceptionally well is the slow reveal of a particular storyline. She knows how to tease the reader, dropping little hints and nuggets of information throughout the book until suddenly a huge plot point is revealed. I love the way she does this and she always keeps me guessing about what deep dark secret is about to be uncovered!
As in all her books, there are many side plots happening and other characters building. Joel is a great sidekick and it would be good to see his story in the future. The storyline around Barneys grandad is heartfelt and emotional. The past descriptions of Elle and how she affected Barney gives great insight into why he chooses the women he does. Fizz appears and brings in some hedgehog magic. All in all it is a wonderful book and I am excited to read future Bumblebee Barn stories and see these characters pop back up!
