Good morning my lovely readers! Today I will be sharing with you my review of the fabulous 'A Love to last a lifetime' by Clare Swatman. This is part of the blog tour hosted by Rachels Random Resources and as usual she has provided me with a corker of a book!!

The one that she wants...
Adam Bowers; handsome, funny and with the charm of a rock star, from the moment she laid eyes on him, teenage Erin was smitten. But first loves don’t always last, and after a whirlwind romance, Erin and Adam go their separate ways. Yet, Erin never lets go of the feeling that Adam may have been her soul mate...
The one that she needs...
Greg fell in love with Erin in their first week at university. Solid, trustworthy and hopelessly devoted to Erin, he knows he's better for her than the feckless Adam, who is forever leaving Erin broken-hearted, before winning her back with his charm. As far as Greg is concerned, it’s easy to promise the world, but it’s harder to love someone for a lifetime.
The one that got away...
Years later Greg and Erin are married, and although life hasn’t always been easy, Greg’s love for Erin has never dimmed. But when Adam comes back, in desperate need of Erin's help, everything changes. Erin starts to wonder whether fate is trying to tell her something…
Will Erin risk it all for the man she had thought was ‘The One’?

This book was absolutely fantastic, I love Clare Swatman anyway and so as soon as I saw this book on a tour I knew I had to jump on it! I was not disappointed. I reviewed Clare's previous books 'How to save a life' and 'Before we grow old' which were also fabulous, click on the titles to find my reviews.
The book tells the tale of Erin, Adam and Greg. A bitter sweet love triangle. Erin and Adam were childhood sweethearts who had an all consuming passion, Erin never truly loved anyone again in the same way, including her current husband Greg. I loved the leap between present day life with Greg and the past where the details of her relationship with both men was described. It was really interesting to see how she had been affected by Adam and his behaviour, but also had found a different kind of love with Greg. Her turmoil when Adam came back into her life was well written and believable. The thing I liked the most though was that it wasn't as simple as the love of her life had returned and she was going to drop everything to go back to him. Her journey was so cleverly written and the outcome was exceptionally satisfying. I won't give anything away but lets just say the right decision was made in the end.
The issues that she had with her marriage and the things Greg had done were also very well written, it gave a sense of reason to her thoughts but also added another dimension into her decision making process. She ultimately was a very kind and brave character and Greg was a good man who had made mistakes but loved her ferociously. I liked the storyline surrounding Adam and his reasons for returning as well as his own personal journey throughout.
The Dementia storyline was absolutely brilliant and so sensitively written. I think anyone who is coping with that would agree that the story was written delicately and with compassion. I loved the job that Erin did and her links with music therapy, it was fascinating to read how that can help patients who suffer with dementia, but completely understandable as music is so visceral. It can literally transport us from one place to another in seconds and brings with it so many memories.
Overall this was a fabulous book, it kept me gripped wondering which way she was going to go and who she would choose. I highly recommend it is added to your TBR at once! You can use the link below to bag yourself a copy.
