Blurb

When we hear snowy day we imagine sledding, snow angels, and hot chocolate. Siena, who lives in Ottawa, also thinks of dance!

Why? Because, when the snow comes down the plows show up and perform what she calls the Dance of the Snow Tractors.

Join Siena on her porch with a mug of something warm and enjoy the show. You'll never see snow plows quite the same way again.

My thoughts

This was a sweet book all about snowy life in Canada. Living in Britain I have never experienced a snow quite like the scale they experience over in Canada so this was a nice little insight into what it is like over there in winter.

Told through the eyes of a child the day of a snow plough driver is given a magical feel as she describes their actions as a beautiful dance which keeps her enthralled.

It is a lovely way to describe something that would probably be seen as more of an annoyance to us adults! This is a great book for children to show them a different side of life they may not know, there are few words but the illustrations show everything clearly and it made me want to snuggle up in my thick winter clothes with a big cup of hot chocolate!

This sounds like such a sweet read! I love how it’s written through a child’s eyes. While parts of Canada get a lot of snow, I’m on the west coast of Canada and we don’t have loads of snow either (in fact some years we don’t have any). Thanks for sharing!
