"Visiting Lucifer definitely wasn't on our bucket lists. I think it belongs on one's fucket list to be honest."

Something wicked comes for them all. Will any of them survive the ultimate double-cross?
Quinn Carter pledges to protect his found family no matter the cost. So when they come under attack by a psychotic ghost, an unforeseen spy, and a traitorous witch, the half-demon teen and his supernatural friends fight to keep each other safe. But a determined enemy still hungers for his girlfriend and her angelic blood…

Can he save the world without losing all he loves?
Mayhem & Magic is the fiery third book in The Younglings YA paranormal fantasy series. If you like a diverse cast of characters, fast-paced drama, and sizzling romance, then you’ll adore Helena M Craggs’s cunning chaos.

Crikey this was a fast paced, action packed exciting instalment! If you haven't read the Younglings series before I highly recommend you read the first two before picking up this one as they really build the characters and their stories. You can pick up a copy of these brilliant books here
Book 3 was everything I hoped for and more! Helena stays true to the fact that her characters are teenagers, now off to college, and the way they speak reflects this. I especially enjoy Quinns mannerisms and the way he talks - he can move from sensitive soul to angry grumpy demon in a flash but we never forget he is still a boy. I particularly loved 'craptacular' from his range of exclamations, I think I will be employing that one into my own vocabulary!
We follow the younglings into one of their biggest fights so far. All our favourites are still here and their bond is as strong as ever. We are reacquainted with the tracker Rhys and his despicable plans become more obvious as the book goes on. We also meet the fabulous Lucifer, a.k.a Satan and his links with the younglings are intriguing but not surprising if you think about it! I am excited to see where he fits into book 4 as I feel there is a much bigger part for him to play!
We see love, loss, grief, anger and many battles and all just leave you wanting more from the next book! The relationships between the younglings grow stronger and the found family trope is lovely in the story. There are some new characters appearing who are not what they seem and seem hell bent on destroying the younglings but their strength together makes it very difficult.
If you love fantasy or are new to it these books are great as they encompass all the different paranormal creatures, from demons, angels, witches, vampires, werewolves, ghosts and more. The spook crew are full of surprises and talents that make their role as protectors really special. As well as the ongoing battle and threats they face they have day to day missions to help the dead cross over and that part always gives me Ghost Whisperer vibes so I love it! There is never a dull moment for the younglings and they still manage to do their college work and navigate their teenage angst. They are a very talented bunch!
I highly recommend these books, they keep me enthralled and I cannot wait to read the last one *sob* when it hits. Helena keep doing what you are doing as it is amazing!!
If you haven't read these books yet...... what are you waiting for?!
