Weekly Catch up

Hello and welcome to the end of my week! Admittedly this was supposed to be posted on Sunday with it being the end of the week but hey it was another bank holiday weekend so it will be posted Monday instead!

So this bank holiday weekend was in honour of the Royal Coronation. However you may feel about the Royal Family it was certainly a day to remember. I personally enjoy the royal family and feel they do a lot for our country. They work hard and very rarely get any time off from their professional roles. There may well be scandal and controversy but what important institution does not have that? I watched the Coronation (well I had it on while I was doing school work) and I enjoyed the spectacle, the glorious garishness of the golden carriage, the beautiful melodies of the choirs singing and I always love watching the family on the balcony at Buckingham Palace. I enjoyed the pomp and circumstance and love that I watched a part of our history occur. It will be something that is remembered.

As well as Coronation watching I have enjoyed being outside this weekend, I spent some lovely time with friends drinking shandies on a picnic blanket, at a local country club, for a Coronation party. The sun was blazing, the sky was clear and the afternoon was just gorgeous. We have also had some gorgeous walks despite the rainy weather the rest of the time. We spent today on a hunt for bluebells walking in the woods and that will be shared forthwith as a separate post - it was so beautiful it deserves its own page!

I have been reading a fantastic book this week called Younglings: Magic and Mayhem. It is the third book in the Younglings series by Helena Craggs and I LOVED it. I cannot wait for the fourth and final instalment to hit our shelves! You can read my review here. I'm not sure what I will be reading next, I am going for a mood read off the shelf rather than an blog tour next so I will share it next week!

This week I binge watched the second part of the final season of Firefly Lane. It hit Netflix last week and I watched it all in one night! The boys were away so I had the TV to myself. I have not cried that hard in a long time, I honestly felt dehydrated by the end of the episodes! It was tremendous though and if you haven't watched it yet I suggest you get on it immediately. It is full of humour, love and grief. I love the flashbacks to all the different time eras, it was a rollercoaster and I loved it!

We also watched Escape room, a film on Netflix. I enjoyed the premise of the film, it was intriguing and clever. It wasn't the best thing I have ever seen but it wasn't bad. Certainly fine to while away a bank holiday evening!

I am as always listening to my self care podcast The self care club, it is full of helpful handy hints and tips to improve your won wellness. They try out self care ideas so you don't have to (unless of course they are great!). I am also listening to the Z.O.E podcast - it is a science and nutrition podcast and they cover lots of very interesting topics about health and nutrition with science based evidence. It has some really good discussions.

What have you been doing this week? Let me know in the comments!
