Three sisters…One terrible secret

Ashleigh: A creative, free spirit and loyal. But Ash is tormented by her demons and a past that refuses to be laid to rest. Jessica: Perfect wife and loving mother. But although Jessica might seem to have it all, she lives a secret life built on lies. Grace: An outsider, always looking in, Grace has never known the love of her sisters and her resentment can make her do bad things. When Ashleigh goes missing, Jessica and Grace do all they can to find their eldest sister. But the longer Ashleigh is missing, the more secrets and lies these women are hiding threaten to tear this family apart. Can they find Ashleigh before it’s too late or is it sometimes safer to stay hidden?

Wow! This fast paced story really packed an almighty punch! I read it so quickly as I just didn't want to put it down. We begin learning about the life of Jessica, a strong, well put together mother and wife. Doing everything she can to keep her life as perfect as it can be, unfortunately her errant big sister does her best to turn Jessicas well crafted life upside down. I began feeling quite sorry for Jessica as it seemed she worked so hard to keep everything ticking over so nicely, it seemed she didn't deserve the drama that unfolded when her sister went missing. However once I began to read Ashleighs story my heart broke for her, so much trauma had been thrown at her from such a young age that it was a miracle she was still around despite her demons and the drinking she chose to do in order to silence them.

The more I read about the sisters the more enthralled I became, and then came the addition of a third point of view - Grace. She seemed to be an outsider to the family dynamic yet still became a very large part of the action. The book was written from the point of view of the three sisters and it moved seamlessly between the three. As we delve further into the story more and more secrets are uncovered for all sisters and we realise that no one is quite what they seem and they all have things to hide.

This was a compelling piece that had me hooked from the outset. The twist at the end I don't mind saying I didn't see coming which is always a treat! Bravo Amanda Ashby and Sally Rigby for keeping me gripped and surprising me at the end, I had my own theories about certain characters but they were blown out of the water! I shall most certainly be looking out for further work from this partnership in the future.
