Monday memes for book lovers #1

Updated: Mar 13, 2021

Happy Monday all!

So I had a few memes I fancied completing on a Monday and I thought why not put them together as a compilation piece highlighting some exciting books on a weekly basis? So here is my weekly mashup of book love, I hope you enjoy some of the books shared here.

1. First up is Mailbox Monday....

Warning this can lead to envy! This meme is hosted by Mailbox Monday and is for readers to share the books that came in the mailbox during the last week. I haven't had many books through the post lately as I have promised my husband I would try to bring less books into the house until we have managed to find a home for the ones I already have! However I was very excited to receive an ARC copy of The Perfect Lie by Jo Spain.

This thriller is due to be published on 13th May 2021 and I am really looking forward to reading it. Set to be a gripping and intense thriller it has found pride of place in my bookshelf!

2. ARCstravaganza

Hosted by Flavia the bibliophile this meme celebrates all the fabulous ARCs that have landed on your doorstep/appeared on your kindle over the last week. I mean lets be honest, that has to be one of the best bits about being a blogger!! I have received some super exciting pre-releases this week. As well as The Perfect Lie mentioned above I also received a copy of:

You Love Me by Caroline Kepnes

The latest in the thriller series behind Netflix stalker blockbuster 'You' this book is due to be released on 1 April 2021. I am beyond excited by this book, I cannot wait to find out what awful things the delectable Joe Goldberg has planned in this book. I know it is wrong to really root for a bad guy but.... its just Dexter all over again with this one!

3. Goodreads monday

As discussed in previous weeks, this meme is to share a book I have on my goodreads account that I want to read.

This week I am going to highlight The Other Black Girl by Zakiya Dalila Harris. This book looks absolutely phenomenal. A debut novel which explores the tension surrounding two black women who meet against the starkly white backdrop of New York City book publishing. It is described as Get Out meets The devil wears prada. A thriller with plenty of twists and threatening issues this sounds like a fantastic story. I attended a book event hosted by Bloomsbury publishing and heard Zakiya speak about this book. She really got me hooked and I knew I needed to get my hands on a copy. It will be out in June 2021 and I for one will be first in line to get a copy!

So there we have it, another week of fantastic books. I cannot wait to get into them all!

I hope you al have a great week. I would love to hear about your books received or reading this week in the comments.

What book have you received in the mail that got you excited this week?
