Weekly Round up 15/10

Hello and welcome to my weekly round up! I wanted to get back into regularly posting this as a way to share things that I have enjoyed throughout the week and recommend books/tv shows etc. Plus it is always fun to look back to see what fun things have happened over the week! You don't always appreciate them when they happen!

So I think Autumn has FINALLY arrived! That heatwave last weekend was beyond crazy for October! But there has definitely been a shift in the weather this week and I am here for it. I love getting cosy in warm jumpers and snuggling under my blanket! I am ready for the dark nights and twinkly autumn leaf fairy lights. I think this truly is my favourite season!

I only had one blog post this week, a review of the thriller The Sanatorium by Sarah Pearse. It might be small but its a start in getting back on track with my blog again.

So this week I managed to finish two books. I finally managed to finish a book I started reading for a read-a-long in September! I was in a bit of a reading slump last month so it really did take a while to get this finished however that is no reflection on the book itself as it was great! Not in a Billion years by Camilla Isley was great fun, a fantastic enemies to lovers trope with lots of sexual chemistry between the characters. I have read a few of Camilla Isleys books now and I always enjoy them, she writes great romantic comedies with heat, humour and glamorous main characters who ooze wit, banter and feisty behaviour.

The second book I read was The Sanatorium by Sarah Pearse. This was the complete opposite of the first book I read. I love a thriller and this one had loads of promise, it had a lot of hype and I had been waiting to read it for ages. Read my review to find out my thoughts!

So I finally finished Lucifer, I'm glad it ended when it did, it was starting to get a bit too far fetched even for me! I did love it though. I moved onto Greys anatomy after that and finished season 19 which was fantastic! So many changes and lots of drama as to be expected. I hope they bring season 20 onto Disney when it comes out.

I have now started a new series on Netflix, I am very behind the times with this one but i have finally jumped on the Sex Education bandwagon and I am absolutely addicted. It is hilarious I can't believe I have only just found it.

I was recommended a podcast recently by my brother and I have to say it is a great find. It is called The infinite Monkey Cage hosted by Brian Cox and Robert Ince. They talk about anything and everything and make even the most complex scientific things interesting and relatable for us mere mortals! I especially enjoyed the episodes 'The secret life of sharks' and 'Wasps vs Bees' If you haven't given this a listen yet then you should add it to your podcast list!

I've joined a gym! This is a huge step towards my self care as I have been so unfit following my post viral fatigue illness, it has taken me so long to even feel like wanting to start some exercise let alone actually have the energy for it! So this was a huge step. Following that I did something really simple to help my own self care, I have been massively overwhelmed this last half term with school work, and found that I spent all of my days off working constantly which was doing no good for my mental health so on my day off on Friday I worked for one hour and then I put away the laptop, went to the gym and completed a body pump class, then I treated myself to a glorious homemade pancake lunch and watched some episodes of sex education before going on the school run! I really needed it I can tell you!

So what have you been doing this week? Share any recommendations in the comments, I love to hear from you all!
